Photo Pool for iPad
A lesson for any app developer:
If someone comes to you requesting an application, there are some things you need to watch out for, else a great opportunity becomes a real nightmare.
1. Beware of assumptions. Even if compensation and profit sharing is never discussed or even raised, don’t assume the requestor isn’t assuming they’re entitled to 50% or more of the revenue generated from your hard work. Leave no issues or potential gotchas on the table and unresolved. Doing so could result in them biting both parties in the ass and ruin friendships.
2. If you agree on significant compensation for the requestor, insist on active contributions in the design and testing phases. Don’t let them sit on their ass, leaving you to do all the work. Cheerleading doesn’t count. No developer should give up anywhere near 50% of their revenue when they’re doing nearly 100% of the work. Of course, the exception to this would be ax explicit contract for development of an app that would be owned by the requestor. Otherwise, YOU own the code.
3. Document and agree on future changes. Be sure to revisit the compensation based on your share of the effort if you have to. Again, don’t let them sit on their ass while you do all the work.
4. If the requestor is a lawyer (even if they’re a friend of yours), hire your own to protect yourself from getting played.
Assumptions were made. I did the work. I was threatened should I not agree to give up 50% of the fruits of my labor. Photo Pool is dead. Dead, as in forever.

Not intuitive. One must first type in a group name. If you then hit return and then tap the middle icon to display photos, a box appears asking you to type in a valid group. The trick: after typing in a group name, hit return, then tap the screen , not the pop-ip box,so the box disappears, then tap the middle icon to display photos. Until I accidentally did this, the app would not work.

Type in your group name and you can tap anywhere on the screen. To make the policed disappear.rnrnThough the three buttons seem awkward at first, it allows you to bounce between your EXIF and the photos without messing with the group again.rnrnI hope this helps.rnrnFYI: Some improved search capabilities are in the works.

We have a free-to-the-public community to discuss creative uses of the Mac.nnI have a special advertising promotion, at the moment – and that is, I can offer you a 300×250 banner on the iPad and iPhone sites for $299 or with an independent review and an interview for $399 on both the iPhone and iPad sites. This is a very special offer and I don’t have many of these available, so I would need you to let me know asap if you want to go with that. The ad will run for 30 days. Or, if you prefer I can offer you a review, interview, banner ad on both the iPhone and iPad sites and a video demo of your app for 60 days for $599.nnOur average CTR rates are very high and I know our existing advertisers have been extremely pleased with the results and we have many repeat visitors. Most have said how their products have gone from being unprofitable to being profitable after our marketing campaign.nnBest wishes
